"Death is nothing at all... I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort, without the ghost of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is an unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you for an interval, somewhere just around the corner. All is well.."
- Henry Scott Holland
My fees vary for each ceremony and can range from $375.00 and higher.
Every ceremony is unique and fees are quoted on an individual basis. Travel
expenses, locations and dates are also factors which determine the fee.
For a distance service in which I need a hotel room, the fee must necessarily
include travel, food and lodging. The family should not have to worry about
lodging or anything else for the minister; therefore when a fee is quoted
it will be a single fee to encompass everything regarding the service and
stay over.
After we have our first conversation and I have suggested my availability, I will also quote the fee and then e-mail details. I will ask you to respond that you understand and accept the contents of the e-mail, which will generally reflect the information suggested above. Then - to secure the arrangement, a 50% deposit is paid by PayPal through my website. The balance is paid prior to the service when we meet.
For your consideration, please know that a percentage of the balance can be made as a tax deductible donation to our Virginia nonprofit charity, namely Interfaith Humanitarian Sanctum, Inc. which was established on November 13, 2008. This nonprofit is our way to seek to meet unmet needs for families without funds for lodging and food and have no other opportunity to stay near a UVA Medical patient for a few days, or perhaps longer. Other unmet needs regarding those without funds and uninsured, but have appointments with volunteer medical professionals and dentists in our very opportune community, and need lodging and food in order to actually come to Charlottesville. Our intent is to assist. Finally, our long-range objective is to establish a "safe place" (sanctum) for lodging and feeding temporary visitors on an active and self-sustaining farm with flexibility for counseling for everyone with a belief system or not, during a time of true need. It is a worthy objective, and the balance of the fee made out to this charity is tax deductable. If the balance is made out to me (Rev. Elisheva Clegg) the amount is not tax deductable. Just sharing.
